Alison Carroll, british golf club receptionist and only 23 years old, beaten hundreds of girls to become the new face of the “Tomb Raider” video game franchise.
“I’m single and having fun,” she told reporters during the presentation at Pineapple Studios on August 11, 2008 in London, England as the new face of computer game character Lara Croft
“I’m not looking for a long-term relationship as most men can’t keep up with me. But playing Lara Croft, the sexiest game heroine there is, should get me a few more dates!” Ironically, on the morning of her first major meeting with the producers, the young actress got locked in her apartment and had to channel the spirit of Lara Croft to escape.
“I am on the first floor and the only way out was over the balcony in true Lara style,” she said. “I chucked my bags over the balcony, over I went, then jumped on to the fence and got down. We got to the meeting on time to find out I’d got the role!”
Carroll will now undergo strict physical training to prepare for her job as Lara Croft and to travel the world, playing the archaeological adventurer.
