On it’s Premiere Weekend the 2018 Tomb Raider reboot movie, starring Alicia Vikander, has earned $128.9m worldwide on a $94m budget. Domestic (USA) it was shown in 3,854 Theaters earning $23.7 million.
That’s not a remarkable sum, especially considering the stiff competition from the “Black Panther” movie.
Comparing to the Domestic (USA) Opening Weekend of the 2001 “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” ($47.7 million – 3,308 theaters) and the 2003 “Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life” ($21.7 million – 3,222 theaters) movies from Paramount Pictures, the Tomb Raider 2018 movie from Warner Bros Pictures is doing great.
Tomb Raider fans worldwide are excited and thrilled to watch the new movie. And as always, the mainstream media have mixed reviews on the movie.
The new Movie is filled with wonderfull Easter Eggs, with the best one in the post-credits sequence, where you uncover how Lara acquires the signature dual pistols she’s been carrying around since 1996.
